He said the suspects were apprehended at various part of the metropolis on Monday for violating the ban on traditional Hausa jesters in the state.

According to him, no fewer than 60 persons were injured by the suspects while handsets of some people were snatched and a number of street hawkers attacked and dispossessed of their wares.

He said despite the fact that the command had banned jesters, but some disgruntled elements came out on Monday in defiance of the ban.

He said after screening the suspects, 95 had been released while the remaining 173 were on Tuesday arraigned in court for appropriate prosecution.

He warned parents and guardians to desist from allowing their children to partake in the exercise as anybody caught would be appropriately dealt with.
