Fraudster blows gran’s life savings on a hot tub, sex toy and gadgets

A shameless fraudster stole her gran’s $36,000 of life savings and blew it on gadgets, a hot tub and a sex toy, a court has heard.

According to The Sun, Nicole Speirs, 26, went on a spending spree with the stolen cash, ordering a $600 hot tub, remote-controlled drone and a vibrating sex toy as well as blowing hundreds of dollars on clothes and jewellery.
Speirs admitted using the cash to go on a shopping binge. Picture: Supplied

Speirs was caught out after her victim, 78-year-old Pearl Williams, went to withdraw cash but found her account empty, Daily Record reports.

Speirs, from Kirkintilloch, Glasgow, pleaded guilty to defrauding the pensioner out of $36,427.
A source told the Record: “What an utterly terrible thing to do to a defenceless old lady — and her own grandmother as well.

“Pearl has been more than generous to Nicole her whole life, doing anything she could to help her. That Nicole has repaid her like this is just disgusting — the lowest of the low.”

The source said Pearl is staying with a relative in Portugal while she recovers from the ordeal.

The charge against Speirs states: “You did, having an account with Amazon, repeatedly order goods and tender as a means of payment a bank card or details of a bank card to be debited which was in the name of Pearl Williams, 78, your grandmother.”

It adds: “You did not have authority to use her card or account.”

Pearl’s money was reportedly reimbursed to her after Speirs was charged.

Speirs will be sentenced on August 29.
