Suspected kidnappers of Lagos school students arrested

The Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, says it has arrested three suspects in connection with the kidnap of six students of Model College, Igbonla, Lagos.

He said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday in Benin.

Alleged $16.4m debt: Judge’s absence stalls hearing of suit against Stella Oduah

External reserves drop by $494m in three weeks

Nigeria’s external reserves, which have been on a downward slide since May 5, 2017, fell to $30.5 billion on May 25, indicating a decline of $494 million in 21 days, data on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s website showed yesterday.

The reserves have been rising steadily since March 28, moving from $30.3 billion to $30.988 billion as at May 4.

The IPOB group plans a sit-at-home protest in the south-east and south-south regions of the country on May 30 to coincide with the annual ‘Biafra Remembrance Day,’ as well as honour the memory of pro-Biafra activists killed by security agencies over the years.
