Evans pleads guilty to kidnapping

Evans was arraigned before justice Oshodi on a two count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

Having listened to the two count charges against him, Evans admitted before the court that he committed both offences he was accused of.

This is the first time he is appearing in Court since his arrest by the police.

Evans is to face the death penalty as the offence committed is a capital offence.

Both International and local media, independent journalists are being screened by heavily armed military personnel before entrance is made into the courtroom.

A valid identification must be presented by all litigants, including lawyers, at the door before entry is granted into the courtroom.

Alleged victims, ransomers and lawyers are eager to see that justice is done as the police arraigns him before Justice Hakeem Oshodi in one of the 14 criminal cases hanging on his neck, 10 of which are to be heard in Lagos and four in Edo State.

Five members of Evans’ gang who had hands in Mr. Donatus Dunu’s kidnapping are already seated in court awaiting the arrival of the vacation judge.
