This young man that’s played by Wole Ojo a disgruntled job seeker finally gets a job in her company and discovers that the job was not what he expected. Their paths clash in this eccentric journey of the “SLIVER SPOON” movie.

It had a very impressive performance from the cast members: Desmond Eliot, Jennifer Eliogu, Ayo Adesanya, Enyinna Nwigwe, Yvonne Jegede, Chucks Chyke, Anita Odia and Sophie Alakija.
This film was written and co-produced by Chinney Love Eze and produced by the Anita Odia led A keys productions, the new film parades an array of talented and professional actors like Desmond Elliot,Ayo Adesanya , Jennifer Eliogu who has been away from the nollywood scene, Elliot who also doubles as an actor and helmed this film.

Segun (Wole Ojo) character is one with an ambivert personality and has a protective nature towards his loved one especially his mother. Most of the characters in this film was well taught through has they interpreted their roles strongly, very believable has you can relate to them. Yvonne Jegede played the role of Shade, Segun’s girlfriend and she did a fine job and brought a little bit of comedy into the film.

The critique of this film is original and brings a fresh plot to a typical romantic film that implements a subject topic on some social relevant issues about unemployment and peer pressure, that will get the viewers’ attention to it has the narrative is simple but unique. It’s one of those stories telling that the audiences have seen before but can relate to in different ways or views.

One thing you would enjoy in this film is the dialogue, formal techniques such has cinematography would have been better, editing was okay, mise-en-scène could have been improved to interpret the story better, lighting, diegetic and non-diegetic sound was on point. It has a great balance of drama, educative and a bit little comedy.

However while watching this film, you could easily get bored because it’s like a normal romantic film but the little twist makes it a little interesting. Do watch open mind and draw out some positive lessons about the subject topic of this film.

We have seen a lot lately about ‘’blockbuster films” coming out this ember months has the Nigeria filmmaker are raising the stake higher. The notion is that audience are burned out watching drama in cinema is slowly proved to be wrong has you can still strike a balance with comedy, drama and still pass a great message in a film. I hope to see better films like this and more that tells the Nigerian stories and facing social relevant issues that are present in our society.

‘’The Silver Spoon” made its cinema debut on Friday, September 22 2017 and showing in cinema across Nigeria.
One of Nigeria’s foremost comedians, Basketmouth has appealed to the Psquare brothers to pause their fight until the end of his show as the fight is affecting the publicity for the show.

Earlier, a video of the singing twins and their elder brother in heated argument had surfaced online.
Basket mouth said on his Instagram page: “Why una no wait until after my show on Saturday before una fight this fight?!! You guys are distracting my publicity naaaa!!!! Wetin sef!!!! Anyway….Lords of The Ribs with Basketmouth live on the 30th of Sept”

For the Reno Omokri, spokesman to former President Good Luck Jonathan, the brothers’ fight is a parable about Nigeria and the ongoing issues centered on divisions.

He indicated that the brothers’ problem typifies why Nigeria is not working. He noted that God may be using the brothers to teach Nigeria a lesson on the way to go on the country’s structure.

He tweeted: “If Peter and Paul cant live in peace, is it our own little Republics that will automatically lead to peace? Restructuring is a better option.

“Even P-Square wants to restructure from unitary form of partnership to true federalism. You are Peter, I am Paul. Together, we are P-Square!

“Perhaps God is using @PeterPsquare & @rudeboypsquare to teach lessons on the options before Nigeria-division, restructuring or family fight.”

A Palestinian man shot and killed three Israeli security officers at the entrance to a West Bank settlement on Tuesday morning, Israel police said.

Tuesday’s attack is one of the deadliest outbursts of violence in months, and comes during the Jewish holiday season.

The 37-year-old attacker attempted to enter the affluent Har Hadar settlement north-west of Jerusalem through a back entrance along with a group of Palestinian labourers who work in the settlement, Israel police spokeswoman Luba Samri said.

The assailant, named as Nimr Mahmoud Ahmed Jamal, had a permit to work in the settlement. He “raised suspicions” of the border police officers and security guards at the entrance who attempted to detain him, after which the assailant drew a pistol and opened fire from short range, Samri said.

Jamal, from the nearby West Bank town of Beit Surik, was subsequently shot and killed by Israeli security personnel.

A 19-year-old Israeli border police officer was killed in the incident along with two private security guards.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attack was the result of “systematic incitement” from the Palestinian Authority government.

“While we are still investigating the event and its implications, we can say some things with certainty even now. One – the home of the terrorist will be demolished.

“Two – the IDF has already cordoned off the village. Three – all work permits for members of the terrorist’s extended family are hereby revoked,” Netanyahu said at the opening of a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Some Israeli politicians are calling for the permit process, by which thousands of Palestinians are allowed to work in Israel and Israeli settlements, to be revised after Tuesday’s attack.

Following the attack, Jamal’s hometown and the surrounding area were sealed off on Tuesday by the Israeli army pending “security checks” an army spokeswoman said.

In a statement the Shin Bet, Israel’s security agency, said that Jamal had a history of “significant personal and family problems, including those regarding family violence.”

Meanwhile the Palestinian militant group Hamas praised the attack attack saying it shows “the relationship between the occupation is not a relationship of coexistence but a relationship of armed resistance.”

In a largely uncoordinated wave of violent attacks that began more than two years ago, more than 40 Israelis and around 300 Palestinians have been killed.

Most of the Palestinians were killed while carrying out shooting, car-ramming and knife attacks, Israeli authorities say.

Israel blames Palestinian leaders and media for inciting towards violence, while Palestinians say that 50 years of Israeli military rule motivates such attacks.TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-27331137449464959362017-09-26T16:24:00.001+01:002017-09-26T16:24:19.406+01:00Ambode writes Lagos Assembly on 2017 budget re-ordering

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday sought the approval of the Lagos State House of Assembly to re-order the 2017 Budget.

Ambode’s request was contained in a letter he personally signed, and which was read on the floor of the House by its clerk, Azeez Sanni, during plenary.

According to the request, a total sum of N42.028 billion comprising N31.105 billion from capital expenditure and N10.922 billion from recurrent expenditure will be re-ordered if the proposal is approved by the assembly.

The governor said the re-ordering would help the state government to upscale the road construction and rehabilitation going on across the state to improve connectivity.

Ambode also said part of the re-ordering would be spent on purchasing 700 buses in line with the state transportation reforms.

He added that the re-ordering would also enhance the upgrading of equipment for the state emergency management authority and for improved security equipment for better surveillance.TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-77399533221242457752017-09-26T16:06:00.003+01:002017-09-26T16:06:57.797+01:00British Airways hostess Joanne Wickenden denies being a racist after Snapchat rant about Nigerian passengers’ ‘big d***s’

A BA hostess who sparked outrage when she posted a racist rant on Snapchat has defended it as a joke, according to a pal.

Joanne Wickenden filmed herself railing against Nigerian passengers demanding "f***ing upgrades" while wearing her smart flight uniform. But a close friend has defended her actions, telling the MailOnline: "She's not racist, it was a joke between two friends.

"It wasn't meant to be racist. She is not saying she dislikes Nigerians and she's not saying that anyone is better than anyone else."

Earlier it was reported that an online profile on dating site Plenty Of Fish shows the 23-year-old "wants to date but nothing serious".

And a talent agency lists her as an aspiring actress whose page has been viewed more than 130 times.

The apparent race-hate footage - allegedly recorded in her car - was spotted by fellowcabin crew who quickly reported it to bosses at BA.

The airline told the Sun Online: "We expect the utmost professionalism from our staff when they are representing British Airways. We are investigating this video."

In the outrageous footage, Wickenden rants: "All Nigerians are going to be asking for f***ing upgrades."

During the Snapchat clip, she also bragged how she was going to handle passengers on the six-hour flight.

One part of the video was captioned: "I can't cope with this flight."

She adds: "Alright, so all of yous are there getting ready for your Friday night, getting in the pre-drinks, you know, as you do.

"And I'm here, getting ready to go to work, put on a yellow life jacket, point out the exits, hand out chicken or beef, what sort of Friday night is this for me?

"All the Nigerians are gonna be there like 'gimme Coca Cola, gimme me beef, why you have no beef left? I want beef.'

"And I'm just gonna be there like, 'Sorry sir, we ran out of beef'."

She also goes on to make a "joke" about the size of the male passenger's todgers in a mock Nigerian accent.

She said: "All the Nigerians are gonna be there asking for f***ing upgrades because they haven't got enough leg room because their b***s are in their way.

"Big d**** like this swinging from side to side."TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-59970468307504162812017-09-26T16:00:00.003+01:002017-09-26T16:00:31.022+01:00Lovesick snake expert live streams his own agonising suicide after letting a deadly black mamba bite his hand

Valeev initially went off camera and a muffled "ouch" can be heard as the deadly snake bit him.
The actual snake bite and moment of death were not shown, but the blogger - a former zoo employee - allowed viewers to see the bite on his hand.
At the end of the footage, he got up from his chair and staggered off camera, possibly towards a bathroom. He died soon afterwards.
In the shocking live stream, he said: "If I die, then I die... I just will stay with you for some time. Just in case - on my mobile there is a message for Katya..."
Before adding: "I just will stay with you for some time. Just in case - on my mobile there is a message for Katya..."
His breathing quickens, and his eyes started rolling, before his muscles appeared to become numb.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Tuesday recommended six months paid maternity leave and four weeks paid paternity leave to ensure healthy development of young children.

UNICEF Representative in Nigeria Mohammed Fall disclosed this at the National Early Childhood Development conference (ECD) in Abuja with the theme; “Investing early in Nigerian children’’.

Fall also recommended two years pre-primary education, adding that the policies will afford parents time and resources needed to support their young children’s healthy development.

He said that Nigeria currently has three months paid maternity leave, only one year free pre-education and no paternity leave.

The representative emphasised that based on the 2016 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey, the key indicators of child development remain low.

Fall says, “Only about 40 per cent of children between the ages of 36 to 59 months are attending an organised early childhood education programme, while more than 31 per cent of children under the age of five are moderately and severely underweight.

“Yet research in the Lancet series 2016 shows that early childhood education programme is a foundation for health, productivity, learning and social cohesion’’.

Fall noted that the conference was aimed at creating awareness on the meaning and importance of the early years of a child from conception to five years in early childhood nutrition, education and development.

“Nigeria is putting its children at risk of underdeveloped both physically and mentally because critical national policies are not providing an adequate foundation for their growth.

“During the first one year of a child’s life, the brain grows rapidly.

“Providing good nutrition, loving care and appropriate play provide solid foundation for child’s learning and eventual contribution to economic and social growth.

“Early Childhood Development includes physical and cognitive support has a strategic place in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-77549015010328156092017-09-26T15:21:00.000+01:002017-09-26T15:21:59.316+01:00Atiku Clarifies Position On Restructuring, Says His Opponents Trying To Pull Him Down

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has attributed the misrepresentation of his recent remark regarding the stance of some northerners on restructuring to his detractors who, he said, are seeking for an opportunity to pull him down.

While clarifying reports that he called opponents of restructuring “lazy,” the Waziri Adamawa stated that he could not have called his own people lazy, especially hard working people.

Atiku, in a statement signed on Monday by his Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, said he was referring to lazy elite in the North who are resisting restructuring because they see political power as a permanent source of economic advantages while the masses suffer.

The former vice president was quoted as saying that restructuring is not just a northern issue, but a challenge of nationhood that cannot be swept under the carpet by any sincere Nigerian.

Ibe maintained that his principal could not have called hardworking northern farmers lazy, reiterating that those afraid of Nigeria’s restructuring are lazy elites feeding fat on the country’s resources.

“Atiku Abubakar is a Nigerian of northern origin. If he puts down the North, doesn’t he put himself down? His value as a person is irrevocably tied to that of Nigeria and the region that God chose to originate him from,” he said.

Clarifying his principal’s position in a report which quoted him as stating that the North is not prepared for restructuring, Ibe explained that northern Nigeria is endowed with vast, natural and human resources, and therefore, it should not be scared of competition which restructuring entails.

He pointed out that there is no section of Nigeria that does not have abundance of untapped resources that cannot be put into effective and efficient use for development.

Atiku’s media aide added that agriculture and solid minerals are sources of economic power and influence if properly developed.

He also stated that the North should be proud of what it has, and that the food basket of Nigeria, the North, can develop its agricultural resources into exportable economic advantage.

“It is a historical fact that northern Nigeria, and more specifically, the Kanem Bornu Empire and southern Nigeria, more specifically, the ancient Benin Kingdom, are the birthplace of some of the oldest civilisations on earth.

“What does that teach us? It teaches us that the North and the South have a great history which should be a stepping stone to an even greater future.

Interestingly, nine of the women players coming this year are regular faces in Lagos, while the likes of Conny Perrin of Switzerland, Tadeja Majeric from Slovakia, Christina Dinu of Romania Chanel Simmonds of South Africa and Tessah Andrianjaftrimo of France were former champions.

Others such as Alexandria Riley of USA, Valeria Bhunu of Zimbabwe, Ukrainian Valeriya Strakhova, Austrian Melanie Klaffner and Indian Kyra Shroff had played regularly on the courts of Lagos Lawn Tennis Club.

The players spread across all the continents of the world will be coming from 67 countries.

According to the seasoned sports administrator, the host state, Lagos and indeed the Governor of the state, Mr Akinwumi Ambode’s support for the championship since he assumed office is commendable.

He said the Local Organising Committee (LOC) headed by Chief Pius Akinyelure in conjunction with Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) will leave nothing to chance to ensure that this year’s competition is memorable.

On the gift North West gave her after her Paris robbery:

She gave me a little plastic treasure box, and she put her little jewels in it—like fake little plastic jewels—and she was like, ‘Mommy, this will keep you safe when you go to Paris.’ To have something really sweet like that is more important to me than all the jewellery.
The Senate, on Thursday, set machinery in motion for ensuring proper utilisation of the loans collected by respective state governors. The upper chamber’s move was sequel to the series of complaints from Nigerians across the 36 states of the federation on non utilisation of foreign loans collected by their respective state governments for projects execution with attendant rising debt profile.
The Senate specifically met officials of the World Bank in Nigeria to map out strategies of ensuring proper utilisation of loans collected by the state governments.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Senate leader, Ahmed Lawan, said the move by the Senate was in line with the need for fiscal discipline in public spending, especially on monies borrowed by the affected state governments in form of loans to facilitate development and prevent backwardness and burdensome debts in the states.TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-24685569388983170262017-09-22T10:15:00.000+01:002017-09-22T10:15:13.146+01:00Disquiet in NAFDAC, as acting DG stays put

There was disquiet yesterday at the National Agency for Foods and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) over the continue stay in office of its Acting Director General (DG), Mrs. Yetunde Oni.

Mrs. Oni, who is presently out of the country, was due to have bowed out of office yesterday, after clocking 60 years.

According to an internal memo dated 2010, the acting DG, who hails from Ogun State, was born on September 21, 1957.

The mandatory retirement age for a civil servant is 60 years.

She has been on acting capacity since February last year when President Muhammadu Buhari sent packing heads and boards of agencies under the Ministry of Health.

The President had since appointed substantive heads for the other agencies. Mrs. Oni is still holding forth in NAFDAC, even after reaching the mandatory retirement age.

Besides, the government is yet to extend her stay, which has prompted some grumbling among workers.

The Nation learnt from sources that “Mrs. Oni does not seem to be stepping down and this may likely pitched the workers against the management of the agency”.

She had already scheduled a management meeting for September 29 – three days after her expected return to the country.

Already, workers are becoming agitated on the situation in the agency.

According to findings, some of the workers are planning to disrupt activities at the agency, if the acting DG fails to do the needful.

The workers were also concerned on who would take over from her pending the time the government will appoint a substantive director-general.

A source in the agency, who spoke to The Nation, noted that the acting DG proceeded on a foreign trip, when she knew she was due for retirement.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, noted that “matter was even made worse as she is out of the country for a seminar or conference, when she knew that by law, she was supposed to have proceeded on retirement leave.

“To make matter worse, the director she handed over to before embarking on her foreign trip is not the most senior in the agency.”

According to her memo to the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Mr. Adebayo Babatunde Samson, a copy which was obtained by our correspondent, the Acting Director General stated: “I will be out on official assignment from 18th-26th September, 2017. During the period of my absence, you will act for me and therefore cover my duties.

“You are authorised to sign all cheques and approve requests for payment for which I had earlier given approval. This also applies to all approvals given by the Honourable Minister, the President and other relevant authorities.

“You are also to approve new requests for payment for all utility bills and others not exceeding the sum of N2.5 million in line with extant rules.”

An attempt to get a reaction from the agency’s spokesperson, Mr. Abubakar Jimoh, on the true situation of things concerning the acting DG met a brick wall.

Jimoh preferred to speak on the activities of the agency, which, he said, made a huge seizure of counterfeit products and some arrests.TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-18430427194118436952017-09-22T10:10:00.000+01:002017-09-22T10:10:23.759+01:00France unaware of financial support to IPOB

France has expressed commitment to the unity of Nigeria and denied allegations that it is the headquarters of sources of funds of secessionists.

Information and culture minister Lai Mohammed had said that France was the major country with those funding the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“Let me tell you, the financial headquarters is in France, we know…You have to block the sources of finance.” the minister was quoted as saying.

French embassy in Nigeria has denied the allegation, stating that it has no knowledge of IPOB activities in France.

Mr. Claude Abily, Political Counsellor in the embassy, said in a statement that Nigerian government did not get in touch with France on the issue.

“The Embassy of France was surprised by the statement made yesterday by the Minister of Information and Culture indicating that the “financial headquarters” of IPOB were in France.

“We don’t have any knowledge of a particular presence of IPOB in France and the Nigerian authorities never got in touch with the Embassy on this point.

We stand ready to examine any information which could support this statement.

“Furthermore, we would like to reiterate that France actively cooperates with Nigeria in the field of security and that we strongly support the unity of the country.”

France , a former friend of Biafra in the 1967 secession bid, had earlier ruled out any support for the secession of any part of the country, particularly Biafra.

France’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, told The Guardian, that his country would not in any way work with any group agitating for the dismemberment of the nation.

He said France was working with Nigeria and supporting it as a country.

Speaking against the backdrop of France’s previous support for Biafra during Nigeria’s civil war, Gauer pointed out that Nigeria has evolved since the civil war.

France has been cooperating with the country to overcome its challenges, especially the fight against insurgency.TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-75075725407075249322017-09-22T10:06:00.002+01:002017-09-22T10:06:50.684+01:00UN decries destruction caused by Boko Haram

The UN is unhappy with the destruction caused by Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria and Lake Chad region and is seeking more humanitarian assistance to victims.

The world body noted that millions of victims of Boko Haram were in need of emergency assistance.

Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock, made the appeal at a ministerial event held on the side-lines of the General Assembly’s high-level session.

“We can and must help the millions of people displaced by the crisis as well as those hosting the displaced across the beleaguered Lake Chad region,” he said.

Lowcock, who is also UN Emergency Relief Coordinator, visited Niger and Nigeria earlier this month to raise the global profile of the Lake Chad Basin crisis, which is affecting some 17 million people in the region.

He said in Niger that the number of food-insecure people is 1.8 million.

Some 800,000 children, he said, were affected by acute malnutrition and almost 250,000 people were either internally displaced persons, returnees or refugees from Nigeria.

In northeast Nigeria, about 6.5 million people need life-saving assistance.

Nearly 5.2 million are severely food-insecure and 450,000 children will suffer from severe acute malnutrition, this year, he added.

According to him, the $1.1 billion appeal for Nigeria is currently only 48 per cent funded.

“Together, we have managed to avert famine, but we cannot pause or slow down. We must continue to step up so that the millions of people who are still just a step away from starvation are not allowed to perish,” Lowcock said.

Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed noted that for the past eight years, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria have suffered the horrendous consequences of the Boko Haram insurgency.

“Humanitarian needs will unfortunately remain high into next year and beyond. Sustained support is essential,” the UN deputy chief said.

The Deputy Secretary-General also noted that the crisis is “a powerful example” of the complex, multi-dimensional and interlinked challenges that the region faces, and shows why an integrated, comprehensive and coherent approach is needed to address the humanitarian-development nexus and its link to peace.

These challenges, she said, are driven by under-development, economic and political exclusion, environmental degradation linked to climate change, demographic shifts and structural fragility.

The UN deputy scribe also noted that countries in the region are dealing with violent extremists at the same time as they are hit by economic recession and low oil prices.

“I myself grew up in Maiduguri in Nigeria – the heart of the Boko Haram insurgency.

“I know better than anyone that no child is born a terrorist. Children and young people are indoctrinated and radicalized by circumstances, conditions and influences.

“Governments must act to address the root causes of violence, including the full spectrum of social, political, economic and religious grievances,” she said.

She added that preventing crises requires investment in strengthening resilience and building the capacity of institutions and communities; investment in people and in social cohesion; reducing inequality and vulnerabilities; and expanding opportunities for all.

“The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development is the best preventive tool we have,” she stated.

The 17 SDGs were adopted by world leaders in 2015 to end poverty, reduce inequality and tackle climate change. Kannywood award winning actress, Hadiza Gabon, has featured in her first Nollywood movie.

Following the footsteps of Ali Nuhu, Sani Danja, Yakubu Mohammed and Maryam Booth, Hadiza will feature beside Mike Ezuruonye who invited the actress to feature in his new film titled “Lagos real fake life.”

Hadiza shared some shots of the scenes from the movie on her Instagram page.

Meanwhile, speaking to Nasidi Adamu of the BBC Hausa, Hadiza said she obliged to the invitation when she was called upon by Mike.

“This is not the first time I am acting in an English based film. I did so when I went to America but this is the first time I am featuring in a Nollywood film.”

“It was Nollywood veteran actor who invited me to feature in his new film. Even though I also told him that I will only act in scenes that does not contradict my religious teachings and tradition, he was cool with that,” Hadiza said.

Hadiza also said she felt very comfortable during the whole shooting and is happy to be part of the project.

“I love everything and I hope to continue acting in Nollywood,” she said.TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-12541588094712640872017-09-20T21:12:00.001+01:002017-09-20T21:12:51.352+01:00Wizkid Drops Everytime With Future

They also arrested the owner of one of the shrines in whose premises a couple were rescued on Tuesday night.

The Acting Police Commissioner in the state, Imohimi Edgal, who led broadcast journalists to the shrines on Wednesday, said their (shrines) demolition was part of efforts to ensure complete clampdown on ritualists and fraudsters, who establish such places for criminal purposes.

According to Edgal, the police received intelligence report of illegality at the demolished shrines, adding that they had the backing of all the traditional rulers in the district to pull down individually owned shrines.

Edgal said from findings, the police discovered that most of the people who had been declared missing or fallen victim to operators of “one-chance” buses usually ended up at shrines in that axis, where they are fleeced or murdered.

He said: “We had the backing of all the traditional rulers in Ikorodu to demolish individually owned shrines that are used to perpetrate crime. Some of those shrines are used for ritual purposes. Others were established by fraudsters with the intent to commit crime.

“So, these three we have demolished were identified through police and community partnership. We received information from members of the community and we carried out our own findings too.

“I can tell you that as of Tuesday night, when we were still surveying the places, a husband and wife were rescued in one of the shrines. They fell victim to these criminals and they had been told they would be killed. They were very grateful when the police came to their aid.

“We have arrested an owner. I use this opportunity to appeal to the public to have confidence in the police. They should provide us with valuable information that would lead to the rounding up of all those criminals.

“I want to still assure them that under my watch, their confidentiality is guaranteed. No one would know information came from them. Just as we have gotten these ones, we will get all others and rid Lagos of such criminals.”TheHeutehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06888878056998345702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6621941792923162034.post-36943204153444202592017-09-20T20:00:00.001+01:002017-09-20T20:01:36.951+01:00Its on! A 40 year old-man, Balarabe Adamu stabbed himself and jumped into a well on Tuesday at Rijiyar Zaki Quarters of Ungogo Local Government, Kano, official reports.

Alhaji Mustafa Rilwan, Director of Kano State Fire Service, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the man was rescued from the well before he later died at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

He said that a neighbour raised an alarm and informed the state Fire Service Balarabe had jumped inside the well after stabbing himself.
