Rescued Chibok girls reunited with parents


The 82 rescued Chibok school girls were reunited with their parents on Saturday in Abuja, two weeks after they regained freedom.

Their parents had travelled from Borno State to Abuja.

The emotion-laden reunion took place at the State Security Services facility where the girls have been kept since their release two week ago, Channels TV reported.

Nigerian govt. names university after former Western Region governor, Adebayo

The Federal University, Oye Ekiti, has been re-named Adeyinka Adebayo University, after the late military governor of the defunct Western Region.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo made this known on Saturday at the funeral service held for the late leader at All Saints Anglican Church, Iyin-Ekiti.

AMCON takes over company’s asset over Wokson N5 billion debt

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, on Friday said it took over all the assets of Wokson International Ltd in Asaba and Warri, Delta state.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Jude Nwauzor, AMCON said the corporation took over the company due to a N5 billion debt.

Lagos Govt Says Developers Of Collapsed Building ‘Flouted Stop-Work Order’

The Lagos State Government on Friday disclosed that developers of the three-storey building which collapsed on Thursday in Ilasamaja in Lagos, “criminally unsealed a stop work order on the building” and continued construction.

It would be recalled that at least three persons died with 19 others sustaining injuries when the building caved in at about 2 pm on Thursday.
