He had tough competition in the action-packed show, narrowly beating runner-up Issy Simpson, an eight-year-old child magician, and comedian Daliso Chaponda.
Visibly shocked, the 32-year-old musician gushed: 'I can't believe it!' as Ant and Dec made the announcement in front of the supportive crowd, before he swept up Issy for a large hug.
Finishing in 11th place was illusionist DNA; in 10th was magician Ned Woodman; in ninth were dancers MerseyGirls; in eighth The Missing People Choir; in seventh singer Sarah Ikumu; in sixth singerKyle Tomlinson; in fifth simgers The Pensionalities, and finishing in fourth was comedian Matt Edwards.
Tokio Myers is a 32-year-old former session pianist who has previously supported Kanye West and Amy Winehouse - who he described as his big sister - on tour.
He blew the judges away and was the final act on the night, closing the show in spectacular style with his performance. The pianist combined classical music and Des'ree - Kissing You with Rag'n'Bone Man's Human much to the judges' delight.
Amanda remarked: 'I'd adore to see something like this on the Royal Variety. You've come from nothing and you're absolutely everything.
Simon interrupted her as he interjected: 'I understand what you're saying Amanda , but Tokio you haven't come from nothing, you've had some disappointments. This was breathtakingly good as an artist, as a person I could not be happier for you right now.'
The musician previously told of his tough upbringing explaining that he witnessed his headteacher get stabbed.
He told The Sun: 'I was in the music room practising piano when the door gets kicked open and my teacher drags me off the stool. As I’m carried out I see my headmaster coming into the atrium next door. I see him collapsing, I see blood, and my music teacher is covering my eyes.'
He also spoke about his close relationship with the late Amy Winehouse, telling The Mirror: 'I was totally in awe of her and I could hardly speak to her at first. But she was really sweet and lovely, like a big sister, and would always come up to me and give me a big hug.
'I think she saw something in me, something unique. But she also said: ‘Stay humble and keep being you’, and that’s in my DNA now.'
Meanwhile, Britain's Got Talent viewers turned against talented nine-year-old comedian Ned Woodman during the live final on Saturday night as he delivered yet more digs.
In his act, the youngster savaged Gary Barlow, calling him a 'tedious singing robot', before making a jibe at hosts Ant and Dec for their height.
The judges were in stitches after his routine, with Simon remarking: 'I love that we laugh at you ripping us apart... are you sure I'm not your dad?'
He added: 'You're on the verge of being annoying and likable but I've made a career out of being that!'
Viewers weren't as impressed, however, tweeting: 'Don't think Ned is funny at all #BGT', 'Feeling really awkward watching Ned. Not funny #goingdownlikealeadballoon #BGT' 'really hoping Ned doesn't win and got a nasty feeling he might. why are we laughing at someone being horrible? Really? #BeKind #BGT.'
Others admired the youngsters wit, tweeting: 'Ned =awesome work for a young boy! #BGT', 'Aww Ned did well #bgt.'
Ned was delighted to make it through, having previously shocked viewers with his original audition for Britain's Got Talent, in which he called Amanda Holden a 'dog'.
But the child comedian, nine, proved he wasn't deterred by the comments as he went on to 'savage' the judges during his earlier performance on semi-final.
In his witty routine, the youngster began by claiming David Walliams was a 'rubbish' writer, before claiming the 'most annoying sound' he had ever heard was Alesha Dixon's laugh.
Whilst the judges all seemed to enjoy the routine, Simon was unable to hide his disappointment as he was seen rolling his eyes and whispering in Amanda's ear when Ned was announced as a finalist over his golden buzzer act, Sarah Ikumu.
Sarah did make the final, however, as she was brought back as the golden buzzer act.
Elsewhere in the action-packed final Simon Cowell was left heartbroken by 15-year-old Julia Carlile's tale, which has seen her scoliosis risk ending her dancing career.
And during her opening clip, it was confirmed that he will pay for her to have life-changing surgery on her spine.
In the MerseyGirls dance group's opening VT, Julia made the announcement before the troupe blew the dancers away with their routine.
Simon gushed: 'Every performance you've given it 100 percent. After that, you might be in with a shot tonight!'
Alesha Dixon - who made the girls her golden buzzer act, said: 'I've fallen in love with you,' adding: 'Thank you Simon!'
Opening the show was the Pensionalities - Henry Hall, 84, and Malcolm 'Malc' White, 75, who have a combined age of 159.
The performing pensioners dazzled with their rendition of Frank Sinatra's When You're Smiling, with David Walliams remarking: 'You've put a smile on the faces of the nation!'
Amanda Holden added: 'It is proper old school entertainment, a brilliant opener!'
David's golden buzzer act Kyle Tomlinson was up next and wowed with his performance of Christina Perri's A Thousand Years.
David gushed: 'I couldn't be prouder!' as Simon added: 'I think you'll get calls from agents, producers!'
Illusionists DNA blew the judges away with their routine which saw them 'read minds' to predict numbers the judges would pick.
Alesha Dixon dubbed them 'fantastic', whilst David quipped: 'I hope you influence people at home to pick up the phone!'

David was full of praise as he told the star: 'I love this kind of humour, you remind me of Harry Hill, who I love'.
The Missing People's Choir left the judges in tears with their emotional performance.
The group, which is made up of families of people who have vanished wowed with their dazzling song as the images of their missing loved ones flashed up on the screen.
Alesha broke down as she remarked: 'You just proved how powerful music is, you connected us, united us.'
She added: 'That was your best performance so far you're the ones to beat right now.'
Simon was in agreement as he sighed: 'You've been incredibly honest and to the point, you're not professional singers but it was the absolute perfect way to come into the final.'
The judges' wild card - who was picked to appear in the final after not getting enough votes to progress from the semi-finals - was Sarah Ikumu who wowed with her rendition of Andra Day's Rise Up.
Simon - who picked the songstress as his golden buzzer act remarked: 'What a great song and great lyrics'.
Alesha added: 'You're like an old soul!' as Amanda exclaimed: 'You're the most extraordinary performer.'

It wasn't just the acts who had people talking but the judges, as Amanda Holden ensured all eyes were well and truly on her again when she stepped out in a bridal inspired, floor length gown, with fans joking she looked like she was about to take a trip down the aisle.
Her racy ensembles on Britain's Got Talent left viewers outraged and sparked more than 200 Ofcom complaints.
And despite keeping her sensational figure under wraps, Amanda got tongues wagging again with her wardrobe choice on the live final on Saturday night.
Surprised fans flooded social media as they poked fun at her attire, with one viewer raising the question in tongue-and-cheek fashion, asking, 'Wonder who Amanda Holden is getting married to tonight?'
Alesha Dixon opted to flash flesh on the evening, putting on a very leggy display in a thigh-skimming gold dress.
Meanwhile, Alesha ensured her tanned and toned pins were on full display as she sashayed towards the stage.
The Mis-teeq star looked sensational as she left little to the imagination in the daring dress.
