London attack: Body believed to be French tourist Xavier Thomas recovered from Thames

Detectives searching for French national Xavier Thomas, 45, who disappeared during the London Bridge terror attack, have recovered a body from the Thames near Limehouse.

His next of kin have been informed, Scotland Yard said.

It was believed Mr Thomas was thrown into the river by the attackers van and drowned.

He would be the eighth victim of the attack.

His girlfriend was seriously injured in the collision.
