KWHA says Kwara State has Cause to Celebrate 50 Years of Existence

As Kwara State still in the euphoria of its fifty years of its existence, the State Government has been urged to ensure the take off of its International Vocational Centre in Ajase - Ipo, to make youth in the state more productive and reduce unemployment in the state.

This is part of resolutions of the State House of Assembly, while considering a Motion titled " Celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Kwara State " sponsored by a member representing Irepodun Constituency Hon Mathew Olaitan Babaoye.

Reading the resolutions of the House, the Speaker Dr. Ali Ahmad noted with delight that the state had graduated to national consciousness and would continue to be reckoned with in politics, academic, entrepreneur and enjoined the state government to address youth joblessness and cultism so as to sustain her slogan of state of harmony.

The House equally urged the state government to implement the provisions of Secret Cult and Society Society Prohibition Law 2016 to curb the menace of cultism in the state.

Hon Babaoye had while raising the motion, noted with delight that the state had cause to celebrate, in view of the feat which the state and its people had attained in all spheres of life.

Meanwhile, the State House of Assembly has urged the State Ministry of Environment and Forestry to ensure Synergy between the State Environment Protection Agency and private refuse evacuation companies, to ensure Smooth operation in the state.

This followed a consideration of the report on " Complaint Letter " from Munirat Buhari Memorial Environmental Services by the House after its presentation by the chairman House Committee on Health, Environment and Forestry Hon Ahmed Ibn Mohammed.

The Deputy Speaker Elder Mathew Okedare who presided over the Wednesday's sitting, while reading the resolutions of the House, said the Synergy became imperative in order to enhance smooth working relationship in the task of ensuring healthy environment in the state.

The House  equally directed the General Manager of KWEPA to allow Munirat Busari Memorial Environmental Service to continue to enjoy its service at Shoprite area of the state capital.
